Canadian Tap Water

There is no federal oversight of tap water in Canada, nor do most provinces monitor drinking water quality. So Canadians drink poisoned water.

There is no safe level of lead consumption. Lead leaches from pipes into the water it carries. Despite lead being known as toxic for centuries, lead water pipes are still used in many places, including Canada and the US.

A recent private survey across Canada found high lead levels in tap water. Canada has an estimated 500,000 lead water pipe service lines.

The only province in Canada which monitors and posts water quality reports is Ontario.
