The American heartland was deluged this year. Whereas drought will bake more intensely the dry regions of the world, extreme rains will become commoner where rainfall is the norm.
A warmer atmosphere holds more water vapor. Norwegian climatologist Gunnar Myhre et al: “the most intense precipitation events observed today are likely to almost double in occurrence for each degree (Centigrade) of further global warming.”
